Army organises medical camp at Mebo to enhance rural healthcare access

PASIGHAT, March 20: Reflecting its commitment to community welfare under the ethos of “Service Before Self”, the Indian Army organised a comprehensive medical camp at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Mebo, in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday.

The initiative, conducted by the Spearhead Gunners under Spear Corps on March 19, aimed at providing accessible and quality healthcare services to the local population, particularly in remote and underserved areas.

The medical camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from residents of Mebo and adjoining villages, with a large number of civilians benefiting from the services offered.

A team of experienced medical specialists carried out free health check-ups and consultations across multiple disciplines. Services included general diagnostics, distribution of essential medicines, dental examinations, and expert medical advice catering to a wide spectrum of healthcare needs.

The camp was organised in close coordination with the District Health Society, Pasighat, ensuring smooth execution of the programme and effective outreach to the local community.

Such initiatives highlight the Indian Army’s sustained efforts towards nation-building through humanitarian outreach, while strengthening its bond with civilians by addressing critical healthcare requirements in remote regions.
