Naharlagun Police recover 20 stolen laptops from TRIHMS IT cell within 24 hours



Naharlagun Police have recovered 20 brand-new laptops and several accessories stolen from the IT Cell of TRIHMS, less than 24 hours after the incident was reported. A written FIR was lodged on 3 December, stating that two unidentified individuals had stolen laptops from the facility. Following this, a case was registered under NLG/PS/C.No. 163/25 U/S 305(e)/3(5).

Acting swiftly, a police team led by Inspr. Krishnendu Dev, OC PS Naharlagun, along with SI Niri Rama (IO), SI Vivek Linggi, HC K. Samyor, HC A. Poyom, Ct. Sanu Raj, Ct. D. Borah and Ct. T. Dawa, and supervised by SDPO Naharlagun Rishi Longdo, visited the crime scene, analysed CCTV footage and identified the suspects before conducting raids at multiple locations. Their coordinated efforts resulted in the successful recovery of all stolen laptops.

Police have arrested four individuals in connection with the theft. They have been identified as Bicky Chetry (28), son of Lt. Sunil Chetry of Banderdewa; Taba Rajiv (18), son of Taba Ram of Itanagar; Miss Nikh Yajur (28), daughter of Nikh Tugu of Yazali; and Miss Lina Josam (22), daughter of Bili Josaham of Aalo. Police said the investigation is still underway to identify any additional suspects and recover more stolen items if involved.

ICR SP Dr. Nyelam Nega urged the public to install functional CCTV cameras and remain alert to suspicious movements to prevent similar incidents in the future.
