Young scooty rider dies in Midpu collision; Bolero driver in custody

Itanagar, June 30: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 23-year-old scooty rider on Monday evening near B.K. Mission School, Midpu II. According to police sources, the incident occurred around 5:44 PM and involved a collision between a Bolero pickup (AR01N2076) and a scooty (AR01M1088).

The scooty rider, identified as Tage Neha, son of Tage Kapa and a resident of Mudang Tage village under Ziro police station in Lower Subansiri district, was found dead on the spot, presumably due to fatal injuries sustained in the crash.

The Bolero driver has been identified as Gichik Pariam alias Sony, 34, a resident of Tali village in Kra Daadi district. He was accompanied by a woman, Tassar Santi, 34, of Tabing village, also from Kra Daadi district.

Police have detained the Bolero driver and seized both vehicles for mechanical inspection. A case has been registered at Doimukh Police Station under case number 90/25, invoking sections 281 and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation has been assigned to SI Ribya Nako.

The deceased’s body has been kept at TRIHMS mortuary for post-mortem examination. The victim’s family has been informed, and further investigation is underway, police said.
