Daporijo, May 22: In a continued crackdown on drug trafficking, Daporijo police arrested two individuals and seized heroin during a raid in Upper Subansiri district on May 20.
Based on a tip-off, police apprehended Tajum Dai and Keman Gyate in the evening and conducted a house search in the presence of an Executive Magistrate. The search led to the recovery of five tubes containing heroin, weighing 0.63 grams.
Following further leads, police raided the residence of Vicky Gongo, where they recovered eight more tubes of heroin weighing 0.97 grams.
The operation was led by Sub-Inspectors J. Natung and T. Mona, along with the PS ready team and an Executive Magistrate, under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Daporijo.
Police have registered a case under the NDPS Act and assured continued action against drug trafficking in the district.
